雕塑學系 Department of Sculpture

　　1967年自美術科獨立設系，至今為止，仍然是國內藝術類科中，以雕塑為研究與創作的唯一科系。早期師長均為藝壇名家，培養了許多雕塑藝術人才，畢業校友，執國內雕塑界之牛耳，結合現代藝術的發展前景，在公共藝術領域中校友表現即為突出。

　　雕塑學系之課程主要落實於文化特質以及現代藝術創作人才之培養。注重美術史論之鑽研，術科則分基礎培育與專業養成，並分別以選課代替分組，計分為塑造、木雕、石雕、金屬造形、陶塑等專業，學生可以依自我興趣專精研究，居於「繼承傳統特質與走向現代藝術創作」的教育理念，兼及學術的並容性，同時肩負美育推展，服務社會之使命，延攬國內外名師來校教學，經由國際交流，體悟不同時空的創作條件、歷史認知，尋求自我藝術創作方向，以培養雕塑創作、研究及鑑賞的人才為教育目標，課程兼顧東西方理論與表現技法，強化雕塑藝術本質的認知，期能反應國際與本土的多元性藝術，為我國雕塑藝術之延續與創新探索契機。

　　雕塑系為目前國內大專院校中唯一專研於雕塑藝術的科系。創立至今幾近四十年，培育了七百多位專業人才，為現今雕塑藝術的主幹。本系的課程主要在落實文化特質，以及現代藝術創作人才的培養。四年的課程架構分為學、術科課程，學科方面分美術史與專業理論課程，術科方面為基礎培育課程與專業養成課程及輔導課程。

　　Since the independence from Department of Fine Arts in 1967, the Department of Sculpture has been the only department which focus on research and creation of sculptures in Taiwan. Early faculty members, who passed on their talents to all students, were all famous artists. Today, their students are outstanding in the field of the Public Art, too.

　　We impart to students the basic knowledge of sculptural culture and professional art through academic research and study, making use of the qualities of Eastern art in the context of western sculpture form. Our department has rearranged the curriculum structure such that students are able to create their own field of study through course selection rather than arbitrary division into study groups. Students then proceed to refined modern sculpture workshops in "Sculpture," "Metalworking," "Woodcarving,""Stone Carving," and "Mixed Media."

　　We invite teachers from all around the world, to make students realize the principle of art creation in deferent era, region and historical backgrounds through the international exchange and develop their own way to do their own art creation. May all the students can have a wide view with multi-culture than keep the historical heritage and bring the new innovation to the area of the sculpture in Taiwan.

　　The Department of Sculpture is the only department which focuses on the art of sculpture in Taiwan. Since the 1960s, the department has more than 700 graduators and become a main character of sculpture today in Taiwan. The arrangement of curriculum concentrate on the cultivation of a modern artist who has the vision of humanity and multi-culture. The four years courses are combine with "The History of Arts", "Professional Theories", "Basic Training", "Professional Cultivating" and "Counseling."
