美術學系 Department of Fine Arts

　　自1962（民國51年）美術科成立迄今四十年，培育了許多優秀藝術人才，為國家藝文活動建樹良多。設立之初，計分國畫、西畫、雕塑三組，民國53年增設夜間部。其中雕塑組於1967年獨立為雕塑科。民國83年本校改制為學院，美術科更名為「美術學系」。2000年國畫組另行新設「書畫藝術學系」。

　　美術學系在歷任科系主任全力籌畫經營下，奠定了良好宏基，屢創新局，學生與畢業校友，在藝術領域中表現極為優異。自國畫、雕塑分別設系以後，純粹以西畫為主軸，兼習中外藝術理論，啟發創作思維，注重社會脈動，引進新思潮與科技藝術，積極朝國際化邁進。

　　美術學系之組織架構設負責人（美術學系主任）一人，專任老師以教學、創作研究為主，並兼校務發展之部分相關專長領域工作。主任有四位行政助教協助系上之各項教學課程、學生輔導、總務、展演及學術研討等工作。系上之學生組成架構有日間部、進修推廣部及其他相關進修之學制，並設有學會（會長、學術長、理監事長…）及班級幹部，共計約七百餘員。

　　本系所培養優秀創作人才，畢業後分佈於國內外，創作之形式與內容，兼具傳統與創新。奉獻所學於文化藝術教育與活動，成績斐然。師資皆為一時之選，學有專精，皆在培育多元思維與宏觀視野。奠定雄厚之創作基礎，關懷鄉土，配合社區發展透過國際文化學術交流，建立自我獨特藝術風格。

　　Since found in 1962, the Fine Arts Division has culminated innumerable artistic talent, contributing greatly to the nation's Department of Fine Arts artistic and cultural endowment. At initial inception, it comprised the three sections of chinese painting, western painting and sculpting. In 1964, the evening division was added. And of the department, the department, the sculpting section became independent as the Department of Sculpting in 1967. In1994, the school was reorganized as an academy, and the department of fine arts renamed as the "college of fine arts" In 2000, the painting section was relaunched as the "Department of Painting and Calligraphy Arts".

　　Department of Fine arts, as spearheaded by the devoted management of Department Chair past and present, has laid a sound foundation and unveiled many innovative moves, propelling its students and graduate alumni to shin excellently in the domain of fine arts. Following separate schools launching for the painting and sculpting, the department now mainly focused on western painting, with a dual emphasis on chinese and foreign artistic theories for aspiring creative thoughts and a focus on social pulse, and by introducing new thinking and high-tech oriented art to actively embrace for globalization.

　　Department of Fine arts' organizational framework is built on person in charge,the principal professors are charged with teaching and creative research, and also share in school administrative and developmental duties paired with their specialized domain. There are four administrative assistants who assist the dean with departmental teaching curriculum, student counseling, general administration, exhibition performances and academic symposium work. The framework of the departmental student body comprises the daytime division, continued education promotional department and other relevant advanced academic prefect, and is supported by a student council (of council president, academic prefect, board of directors and auditors) and class prefects, totaling approximately over seven hundred members.

　　The excellent creative minds graduating from the department are actively pursuing their artistic endeavors local and abroad after graduation, with their creative from and content encompassing the tradition and innovation. They have contributed what they have learned in cultural and artistic education and endeavors with impressive results. With an elite department faculty, members of the faculty contribute their expertise in learning and knowledge to culminate students with diverse thinking and broad vision. The department faculty is credited for deep-rooting a strong creative foundation,as it emphasizes the grassroots culture by supporting the community development and utilizing international cultural and academic exchange to instill the department with a distinct artistic flare.
