書畫藝術學系 Department of Painting and Calligraphy Arts

  本校前身為國立臺灣藝術專科學校,美術科成立於民國51年,民國53年增設夜間部,民國85年本校改制為「國立臺灣藝術學院」,美術科更名為「美術學系」,包含國畫組及西畫組。民國90年8月1日本校改名為「國立臺灣藝術大學」,美術學系於91年分系,原國畫組成立「書畫藝術學系」,以前瞻性與宏觀辦學理念,朝獨特、民族、學術性、專業性、開創性、世界性、國際化方向繼續努力。

 

  本系教學以培養中國書、畫、篆刻創作與研究的專業人才為教育目標,教學研習兼顧理念情思與表現技法,結合知識與鑑賞、啟發造形構成的自主性與創造性,發揮傳統創作材質特性與精神,融合現代媒材的表現形式與手法,強化視覺藝術本質認知,秉持追求創新與匯通中外古今的傳承精神。謙懷探究當代國際藝術表現思潮以資取用,落生本土新貌與特質,不至於盲目追隨與抄襲。對傳統文化藝術的發展亦兼容並重,追求其現代與國際視野的新生風貌要能凌越師法古人形蹟摹似之限,進而師法古人研創精神,追求以自我情思理念與識見景境的嶄新風範。

 

  本系師資皆為一時之選,學有專精,致力培養優秀創作與研究人才,在創作形式內容上兼具傳統與創新,加以本校藝術學系完整,透過系際選修,與環境陶冶,可以培養多元化並富開創性之宏觀視野。專業教學之課程安排與架構,依學生性向,依序漸進,紮實根基,中西融合、古今互參,豐富學養,奠定優異的創作基礎。書畫藝術學系目前已設有學士班、碩士班及博士班共七個學制部別。

  The National Taiwan University of Art's predecessor was of the National School of Arts, which inaugurated the Fine Arts Division in 1962, launched the evening division in 1964, and in 1996, the school was reorganized as the "National Academy of Arts", with the department of fine arts renamed as the "Department of Fine Arts", comprising the Chinese painting and calligraphy arts section and Western painting section. On August1,2001, the school was renamed as "National Taiwan University of Arts", with the college of fine arts divided by department in 2002, where the previous chinese painting calligraphy arts section was organized into the "Department of Painting and Calligraphy Arts", embarking on an innovative and visionary educational concept to continue putting forth its best efforts refining the department's unique, ethnic, academic, professional, pioneering, worldwide and global perspectives.

 

  The department' teaching focuses on developing professional human resources in Chinese painting and calligraphy, engraving creation and research, with a teaching approach duly emphasizing on conceptual thinking and expression techniques, combining knowledge, appreciation and aspired configuration to form a voluntary and creative-based teaching orientation, aiming to excel the traditional creative material's characteristics and spirit by blending the modern raw material and expression form and techniques, through which to strengthen the cognitive awareness of the very essence of visual art, and to uphold its pursuit of innovation and blending the time-tested heritage philosophy. The department curriculum embodies a stringent approach in exploring the contemporary artistic expression and thinking by mirroring the strong elements of the past, and in deriving new facets and attributes building on the grassroots foundation, but shunning from any blind following or imitating. It also has a dual emphasis on accommodating and nourishing the traditional cultural and artistic development, as it focuses on a brand-new approach of pursuing the modern and perspectives for surpassing the limitations of imitating the old masters, and in turn drawing inspection from the old masters' innovative spirit, by which to instill a forefront philosophy of independent thinking and insightful awareness.

 

  The department faculty comprises elite instructors who are well versed in their specializes fields and are devoted to culminating excellent creative and research talent, and in the content of creative mode, there is a dual emphasis on tradition and innovation, which coupled with the school's comprehensive arts departments, interschool course study, and a scholastic ambience provides a cradle for culminating students with diversity and a broad vision for innovation. The department offers a professional teaching curriculum and framework, catering to the students' individual attributes, backed by a systematic progression for deep-rooting the fundamental skills, together with a versatile approach of blending the East and West, the old and new, for an enriching academic study program that helps to lay down a soild creative cornerstone, The department of painting and calligraphy arts now offers bachelor of arts degree, master degree and doctoral degree, through seven academic department programs.
