基礎美學

1. 知識：學生將可以了解到東西方美學流派與發展。也可了解美學所探討的三大部分：
   • 藝術的創造
   • 藝術品
   • 觀眾及批評家的反應
2. 技能：美學一直被視為人文藝術之通識學門，在視覺藝術相關科系常被列為基礎課程。學生可以學習到如何將美學思想應用到作品的分析上。
3. 態度：美學是一門思辨性的學問，本屬於哲學的範疇，因此學生們在學習態度上，需要多動腦思考和參與討論。
4. 其他：藝術理論在當代有了多元的發展，東西方美學理念的交流，將有助於學生開拓視野。
5. 課程銜接：由於本課程「基礎美學」的部份同學在大三時會修較為進階的「美學理論」，本課程「基礎美學」的設計以美學主題的分析討論為主，可以銜接老師(本人)所教的大三課程「美學理論」，是以中、西美學史的方式來教授。「基礎美學」以"美學主題"為教學單元，「美學理論」以"美學家"為教學單元，兩課程之間有基礎和進階的互補作用。

Basic Aesthetics

1. Knowledge: Students will be able to learn about Eastern and Western aesthetic genres and development, as well as understand three major parts that are explored by aesthetics:
   • Art creation
   • Artworks
   • Responses from audiences and critics
2. Skills: Aesthetics has always been regarded as a general knowledge of humanities and arts, and is often classified as a basic course related to Department of Visual Arts. Students can learn to apply aesthetic ideas on work analysis.
3. Attitude: Aesthetics is a speculative knowledge that basically categorized as philosophy. So in learning attitude, students need to think more and participate in discussion.
4. Other: As art theory has diversified developments in the contemporary era, so the exchange of Eastern and Western aesthetic ideas will help students to widen their horizons.
5. Course convergence: As students will learn the more advanced “Aesthetic Theory” in the third year while taking “Basic Aesthetics” in this course, so “Basic Aesthetics” of this course is focused on the analysis of aesthetic themes to allow students to converge into the third-year “Aesthetics Theory” course that the teacher (myself) teaches. The course is taught in Chinese and Western history manner. “Aesthetic Themes” is taken as the teaching unit by “Aesthetic Foundation” and “Estheticians” is taken as the teaching unit by “Aesthetic Theory” to give a complementary relationship of basic and advanced knowledge between the two courses.
