來自臺灣的當代藝術能量，正在新加坡匯聚與綻放。由國立臺灣藝術大學美術學院與新加坡南洋藝術學院（NAFA）共同主辦的國際交流特展《季風之間—臺灣當代藝術切片》現正於南洋藝術學院義安藝廊 1 & 2 展出中。
本次展覽來自臺灣藝術大學美術與雕塑學系師生共計16位跨世代藝術家的多元創作，透過繪畫、雕塑與跨媒材作品，呈現當代臺灣藝術在文化流動與全球視野中的創作能量與多元樣貌。不同世代的藝術家在展場中交織出豐富而開放的藝術語言，為觀眾帶來充滿層次與想像力的視覺體驗。

《季風之間—臺灣當代藝術切片》
「季風」（monsoon）一詞源自阿拉伯語mawsim，原意為「時節」或「季候」。在成為氣象學名詞之前，它首先指涉的是一種時間制度：風向與雨季的週期性轉換，決定了航海、遷徙與文化交流的節奏。
季風除了意味著特定氣候的往返與切換，也關於遲滯與持續。季風是柏格森（Henri Bergson）所談論的綿延（durée），屬於質性的、非線性的時間，它具現在冬季黏附在皮膚上揮之不去的濕冷潮氣─這也是位於熱帶與亞熱帶之交的臺灣，在東亞季風系統中令人熟悉的身體感。
展覽借用「季風」之名，指向了特定氣候條件下帶動的時間、節奏感與身體經驗，如何形塑出臺灣藝術中的獨特感性；展覽以「季風」為喻，也回應著我們對於藝術狀態的某種想像：不斷生成、往返，又不時產生偏移的創作路徑。此展作為臺灣當代藝術的一個切片，16位參展者來自國立臺灣藝術大學美術學院所屬之雕塑學系和美術學系師生，橫跨臺灣戰後第二代藝術家，及千禧年後出生的青年創作者。他們的作品如同不同的「季風式文本」，呈現出開放、多義且混雜的藝術探索。
此展由國立臺灣藝術大學美術學院及南洋藝術學院共同主辦，為兩院在2025年啟動的交流計畫之系列活動之一。臺灣與新加坡同屬於季風帶，具有共同的氣候基底，也將在跨經緯度的流通、移動與造訪之中，分享各自充滿活力的藝術文化面貌。

《Between Monsoons — A Slice of Contemporary Art from Taiwan》

The dynamic energy of contemporary Taiwanese art is currently converging and flourishing in Singapore. The international exchange exhibition 《Between Monsoons — A Slice of Contemporary Art from Taiwan》 jointly organized by the College of Fine Arts at National Taiwan University of Arts and the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), is now on view at NAFA’s Ngee Ann Kongsi Galleries 1 & 2.
This exhibition brings together the diverse works of 16 artists from different generations, including faculty members and students from the Departments of Fine Arts and Sculpture at National Taiwan University of Arts. Through painting, sculpture, and interdisciplinary media, the exhibition presents the creative vitality and multifaceted expressions of contemporary Taiwanese art within the context of cultural mobility and a global perspective.
Artists from different generations intersect within the exhibition space, weaving together a rich and open artistic language that offers audiences a layered and imaginative visual experience.

《Between Monsoons — A Slice of Contemporary Art from Taiwan》
The word “monsoon” originates from the Arabic mawsim, meaning “season” or “appointed time.” Before it became a meteorological term, it referred to a temporal system—a cyclical turning of winds and rains that governed navigation, migration, and cultural exchange across regions.
The monsoon signifies not only climatic reversal, but also delay and duration. It resonates with Henri Bergson’s concept of durée: a qualitative, non-linear sense of time. This time is felt in the lingering damp cold of winter, clinging to the skin and refusing to dissipate—a bodily experience deeply familiar in Taiwan, an island situated at the intersection of the tropical and subtropical within the East Asian monsoon system.
By invoking the monsoon, the exhibition foregrounds how time, rhythm, and embodied experience—shaped by specific climatic conditions—give rise to a particular artistic sensibility. As a metaphor, the monsoon also reflects an understanding of artistic practice itself: a process of continual formation, return, and transformation, marked by subtle shifts rather than linear progression. Between Monsoons presents a slice of contemporary art from Taiwan. The sixteen participating artists—faculty members and students from the Departments of Sculpture and Fine Arts at the College of Fine Arts, National Taiwan University of Arts—span multiple generations, from postwar second-generation artists to creators born after the millennium. Their works can be read as diverse “monsoon texts,” revealing open-ended, layered, and hybrid modes of artistic exploration. Co-organized by National Taiwan University of Arts (NTUA) and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), this exhibition is part of a broader exchange program initiated by the two institutions in 2026. Taiwan and Singapore both lie within the monsoon belt, sharing a common climatic foundation while inhabiting different latitudes and sensorial conditions. Through movement, circulation, and encounter, Between Monsoons opens a space for dialogue, where distinct yet interconnected artistic cultures respond to the rhythms of climate that shape them.
